Big Man

Big Man is a member of the band Deep Cut, and represents a third of the Splatfests that occur in Splatsville, a town overrun with chaotic anarchy. He has mastered the practice of illusion, being able to create a shadow clone of himself that mirrors his movements and even phases out ink. While doing a splatfest with his co-stars Shiver and Frye, the Collider pulled the three into Black Hole- but the Splatfest must go on! Are you team Eevee?

Big Man mainly utilizes his phantom clone that can copy his movements in a mirrored fashion, allowing him to easily coat the stage in ink and do cool set ups with mirrored attacks. However, these shadow clones aren't the strongest and split up and get smaller when they take damage. Additionally, since Big Man fights on his own, he'll really need to keep his ink up or his attacks will falter. He can be sneaky but his huge hitbox often makes his encounters with nimbler foes less than pleasant.

Gimmick: Inky Phantom

Big Man's attacks use ink, which is determined by a seperate meter that drains as he attacks. He can fill up his ink meter by doing a special guard move, which will get faster if he submerges himself in his own ink. Ink also allows Big Man to attack faster across it, allowing him to slide more effortlessly in Shadow Slither, have his Phantom Ray double act faster, and also negate landing lag completely. However, when he's out of ink, his attacks become very weak and he also becomes very vulernable to knockback attacks with a empty ink bladder no longer weighing him down.
Moveset
Phantom Ray
Big Man creates a semi-transparent blue phantom version of himself who mirrors his moves in the opposing direction. He can have one of these active for up to 10 seconds for a 5 second cooldown afterwards. Phantom Ray copies all his movements and even attacks. When the phantom takes damage, it splits up into smaller copies that deal less damage. Triple Inkstrike
Big Man releases three ink missiles that splat the stage in his green and blue ink, which coats the ground and makes it inflict Shoe-Glue when walked on and Absorber on impact, as well as 8 damage with stun. The missles go out two character distacnes, five character distances, and seven character distances respectively.
Spectal Manta
Big Man launches into the air while splattering paint in random globs, dealing 6-8 damage on contact as well as inflicting Absorber on impact. He launches rather high as a spectral after image follows him, which he can press the special button to launch Phantom Ray out of if it's not already active to do a splash attack that deals 11 damage on dead impact, 5 damage from the splash. Shadow Slither
Big Man turns into a semi-transparent blue phantom that goes across the ground, spreading ink slowly as it crawls across the floor of the stage. it inflicts 8 damage on impact and leaves a slimy paint carpet that inflicts Shoe-Glue when stepped on. When Big Man exits out of this state, he goes twice as fast across the paint carpet and has no landing lag on top of it.
Replenish
/
Big Man morphs into the ground and starts to refill their ink tank. On surfaces covered in their green and blue ink, they'll gain a buff to how fast it refills. In this stage they have a much shorter hitbox but will take additional knockback if hit. They're still vulernable, after all.
Finishers
Splat Bomb
Level 1
Big Man launches a Splat Bomb, which can roll for a bit before ending on a flat side, in which it begins detonation process before exploding to deal 7-18 damage. If Big Man has Phantom Ray active, he'll launch TWO Splat Bombs instead, which go in mirroring directions.
Splashdown
Level 2
Big Man launches up into the air with one fin covered in green and blue paint before coming back down, creating a cylinder of paint that explodes outwards in the field, dealing 35 damage to opponents, as well as leaving them with the Absorber. Additionally, he coats that area in paint, which inflicts Shoe-Glue.
Deeper Cut
Level 3
Big Man calls in his friends Frye and Shiver, who come in respectively on a eel school and a giant shark, colliding with Big Man's giant shadow Manta, which he generates as he spreads his body out, inflicting a triple combo of yellow, blue, and red paint that rains down on the stage, coating the entire stage in sticky tri-color ink which inflicts Shoe-Glue as opponents walk on it and leaves them with the Absorber effect, as well being dealt 45 damage. Additionally, each color of ink inflicts a different third effect:
  • Red (Big Man): Red ink inflicts a Poison effect, dealing 3 damage each 30 frames as opponents have it stuck on them and it coats the stage as a carpet material.
  • Yellow (Frye): Yellow ink inflicts a Burn effect, dealing 3 damage each 30 frames as opponents have it stuck on them and it coats the stage as a carpet material.
  • Blue (Shiver): Blue ink inflicts a Frost effect, dealing 3 damage each 30 frames as opponents have it stuck on them and it coats the stage as a carpet material.

Your honor, my client couldn't have broken into the underground facility to steal plans for government-sanction air weapons. As the Squidbeak Splatoon team will allege, there's just no possible timing for that to even be true. Throw this case outta court your honor, this one's not fresh at all? Sit down? Okay.
