Homer

Homer is your average man in America, having a family of three kids and a wife and living in the pastiche of your average suburban America known as Springfield. Working at a nuclear inspector job he's not qualified for and sometimes having an entirely different job from week to week is tiring work. Homer isn't too happy about being in New York for a third time, although it's a lot different than he remembers.

Homer is a very weird heavy character. Having a heavy projectile that is short range but has a lot of priority allows him to utilize it almost as a shield to interrupt attacks. He is also able to recover with Woohoo Whirlwind and can utilize a different projectile with odd properties. However, Homer truly shines when he is drunk, making him a speedier character with more power but has less survivability. He can almost be considered to be two characters in one!

Gimmick: Beer Riot

Homer's down special can highly alter his moveset in different ways. This state, known as Beer Riot, halves Homer's health and can only be done once a stock, as Homer will be permanently drunk for the rest of the stock. His basic moveset changes in the following ways:
  • Kinetic Donut becomes Drunken Rushdown, an entirely new move that acts a command grab.
  • Woohoo Whirlwind becomes a more powerful version of the attack without super armor.
  • Inanimate Carbon Rod becomes Astronaut Homer, a recovery move that works as a very weird attacking move with it's hidden hitbox that will also make Homer dizzy.
  • Beer Rush becomes Tree House of Horrors, which has Homer utilize a variety of random yet different damaging attacks.
In addition to these changes, Homer's speed becomes slightly increased but his knockback and damage taken increases. This makes Homer a bit more of a glass cannon character. Additionally, Homer has a dizzy period after many of his more powerful attacks that makes him open to be punished. His finishers are also altered as well.
Moveset
Kinetic Donut
Homer throws a donut forward for a sluggish pace forward but deals 8 damage. It has a short range but causes a heavy flinch effect that is effective for combo set ups. Other interesting things about this projectile is that it has high priority and can cancel a lot of attacks from opponents but can be completely negated by most blocking moves. Reflections will not work on it but absorbing actions will heal double from it. Woohoo Whirlwind
Homer swings his arms around while moving forward, with heavy superarmor during the three swings and can ascend upwards while in the air, making this effective for recovery, even if the vertical height gained is actually fairly minimal. It deals 4 damage on start and 3 damage on loop until the opponent exits from the animation or Homer swings three times.
Inanimate Carbon Rod
Homer pulls out a inanimate green carbon rod which he can fling in any direction via the control stick. After throwing it, Homer leaps a bit, which can give him a small bit of vertical recovery. The inanimate carbon rod is able to deal 5 damage on hit and can bounce multiple times on a single opponent. It gets stuck on the ground and on contact with fire, it will explode in a radioactive explosion that gives off the radioactive effect. Beer Rush
Homer grabs a giant tankard of Duff Beer and begins to drink from it. This fills his Finisher Bar as long as he's in the animation, although he can only fill it a bar at a time. Do the input again while in the animation and you can activate Beer Riot Mode for Homer, which is detailed above. Additionally, Beer Riot occurs after using the move three times in a row, regardless of actual success. When activated, Beer Riot sacrifices half of his current health pool.
Beer Riot
Drunken Rushdown

Homer lunges forward with both of his hands, grabbing the opponent by the neck and unleashing a three hit beatdown that deals 11 damage. Leads directly into a quick dizzy state for Homer afterwards. Homer runs during the start up animation, allowing it to act as a quick way to move across the stage as well. Woohoo Whirlwind

Acts identical to the original move except now deals 6 damage on start up and 5 damage on loop when spinning. Lacks superarmor unlike the original move. If it is interrupted by attacks, Homer gets dizzy when it becomes cancelled.
Astronaut Homer

Homer gains an astronaut suit and floats upwards for a second before popping back into his normal self and belching. The player gets a total of 0.5 seconds of Homer floating in any direction they tilt the control stick. The belch at the end contains a hidden hitbox that deals 19 damage and large knockback. If this connects, Homer becomes both helpless and dizzy afterwards.
This move has a couple of other interesting properties:
  • Homer will be immune to both fire and ice attacks while in the suit but any other element will deal doubled damage to him.
  • The belch gives Homer superarmor while performing it.
  • If hit by another Inanimate Carbon Rod from another Homer while an Astronaut, Homer will just fling it right back.
Beer Rush

Homer puts both hands on his head and shouts "OH MY GOD" before slamming his fist forward. He has five quick and unique attacks in this mode that are all random.
  • Homer becomes Devil Homer and dances, shaking his maracas to deal 8 damage. Deals burning effect on contact.
  • Homer transforms into Hulk Homer, dealing 11 damage with a two fist slam down. Buries opponents.
  • Homer transforms into Krusty Homer, squirting water from his flower that deals 2 damage and makes opponents wet.
  • Homer transforms into Donut Head Homer, creating three donut items that can heal him for 4 damage.
  • Homer transforms into a Homer with both his head and Mr. Burns' head, before ripping off Mr. Burns head and throwing it as a far reaching projectile that deals 7 damage.
Finishers
Bash Dash Masher
Level 1
Homer puts both hands to his head and then screams before running forward, dealing a powerful flurry of hits that deals 15 damage. In Beer Riot mode, this becomes a more powerful attack that sees Homer rapidly change into various different forms during the attack, such as Hulk Homer, Iori Homer, Gorilla Homer, Astronaut Homer, Two Headed Homer, Robot Homer, Walrus Homer, and Donut Head Homer and dealing 25 damage instead. At the end of both variations of the attack, Homer finishes with a bite before throwing the opponent.
Hell Candy Bomb
Level 2
Homer shouts "See you in hell, candy boy!" before throwing some sort of soda bomb that explodes in a linear explosion that covers a lot of vertical range but not a lot of horizontal range. It deals 30 damage and knocks the foe down, applying a status effect known as Out of Body which sees their spirit knocked out of their body and looking dizzy. The Beer Riot version of this has the explosion travel across multiple times, although it can only deal 15 damage per the three explosions it creates, for a total of 45 damage. While the explosions can knock foes into the next one, it's much easier to escape with higher damage.
Ready Aim Fire/Road Roller D'oh!
Level 3
Homer has two unique level 3 Finishers depending if he's drunk or not:
  • Ready Aim Fire sees Homer pull out a gun and firing it, dealing a series of bullets that deal 50 damage. These projectiles travel quickly and far and will hardstun opponents on contact with any of them.
  • Road Roller D'oh! is only usable during Beer Riot mode. Homer jumps up and then comes down on top of a opponent on top of a giant construction roller, shouting "Squish Now!". Humorously, this only deals 3 damage, requiring the player to continuously tap the button to deal up to 47 more damage, in which afterwards the vehicle breaks and Homer goes into a dizzy state.

He is a loving husband and father who would never do anything to harm another person, let alone a child. The evidence will show that Mr. Burns is simply looking to scapegoat my client for his own reckless behavior. I ask that you find my client not guilty of the charges against him. Thank you..
