R.O.B.
|
R.O.B is the last of a race of robots that lived on a floating island, which was destroyed by Tabuu. He harbors extreme guilt for failing his own people, but lives on as their last remnant. He works alongside Samus, and the two are secretly dating. Being pulled from the Collider and into Miles' New York, R.O.B was separated from Samus and would later investigate the Black Hole with Miles. Donning his old armor disguise as the Ancient Minister, R.O.B. is able to send pieces back to their original universe using reverse engineered Subspace Bombs.
R.O.B is a heavyweight with average mobility, good recovery, and decent physical and spacing options. He is a zoning-oriented character with very useful projectiles to keep his opponents at bay. Arm Rotor can armor through projectiles as well as reflect them. However his large hurtbox and lagginess to his attacks are his primary weaknesses. R.O.B. also has a new "stance" moveset that allows him to also tap into his power as the Ancient Minister, inflicting damage with mini black holes, robot tentacles, his old bomb carrier platform, and the sickles on his coat.

Gimmick: Ancient Minister
R.O.B has a unique second moveset that he can swap to through a special guard option, allowing him to don the cloak of the Ancient Minister, his disguise he put on for the events of the Subspace Emissary after being tasked to commit horrible crimes through his people and their technology by Tabuu. These attacks differ from R.O.B. in a lot of ways, but some stay somewhat familar to those already attuned to R.O.B.'s toolkit. Additionally, Ancient Minister has his own set of Finishers that are unique to him, although the Finisher Energy is shared between both movesets, allowing R.O.B. to build up Finisher Energy, switch to Ancient Minister, and then use one of the Ancient Minister's Finishers instead.

Moveset
R.O.B. Moveset
|
Robo Beam
|
R.O.B fires off a beam that does 10 damage, and if his light on the top of his head flashes red, he can unleash a super charged beam that does up to 18 damage. The beam does stun, although the level of stun is dependent on how charged the beam is.

Arm Rotor
|
R.O.B quickly spins his torso around, dealing 3-5 damage continuously as long as opponents are trapped inside and then ending it with a uppercut that does 7 damage. It can trap opponents reliably in it's loop and its last hit has KO potential, more so than it did before.

Robo Burner
|
R.O.B. activates his thrusts, allowing for impressive vertical and horizontal recovery. Every time it ignites, a small hitbox will go off allowing R.O.B to do a little bit of damage, about 4 damage. The only problem is that it is based off fuel, although it can be regained when R.O.B is grounded. The small lights on R.O.B.'s torso indicates how much fuel he has.

Gyro
|
R.O.B places a Gyro on his base and charges it, pushing it out or using it as a item. It deals 6.1-8.9 damage when initially shot out and 5 damage when thrown again. If the player rapidly presses the attack button, it will "supercharge", allowing R.O.B to throw it out quicker with heavier damage (9.1-11.4 damage), although this comes at the cost of his Robo Burner fuel.

Ancient Minister Moveset

Subspace Gernade
|
Ancient Minister throws a minature version of the Subspace Bomb from The Subspace Emissary, which acts as a mini black hole and can swallow objects, troops, and other items with it's gravitational pull. When a opponent is pulled in, it deals 1.3 damage on loop every 15 frames and is hard to escape from. The more the black hole absorbs, the larger it'll get before disappearing. It can last up to 10 seconds before disappearing upwards into a blip.

Ancient Sickles
|
Ancient Minister has his sickles on his green cloak rotate around him quickly, slashing and dealing piercing damage to opponents, inflicting 1-3 damage continuously as long as opponents are trapped inside before ending with a stab attack that deals significant knockback and inflicts Bleed on impact, as well as 7 damage. Ancient Sickles is very similar to Arm Rotor but is mechanically much deadlier with the tradeoff being it's lower damage output.

Bomb Carrier
|
Ancient Minister appears atop a floating platform which can be used to clutch onto opponents and then drop them from above. This uses similar mechanics to how Robo Burner operates, with each additional boost in the air draining energy- in fact, the Bomb Carrier uses the same Robo Burner fuel. Use the attack buttons to clutch onto a opponent and then drop them with the same button to deal a 7 damage spiking attack.

Robo Tentacle
|
Ancient Minister materializes some robotic tentacles from underneath their cloak, stabbing upwards on opponents, inflicting 9.6 damage and sending opponents flying upwards. The player can tilt the control stick to switch to a "seeking" mode, allowing the Ancient Minister to extend the reach of the attack up to 6 character lengths away before punishing opponents with the attack.

Diffusion Beam Level 1
|
R.O.B gains invincibility and shoots medium ranged whirling lasers out of his eyes with very short knockback that are followed by a burst of hard-hitting short lasers with tremendous knockback. The lasers deal 1 damage on loop with the stronger lasers dealing 5 damage. R.O.B can continue to use the rest of his moveset except for Robo Beam. This lasts 5.6 seconds.

Super Diffusion Beam Level 2
|
R.O.B transforms into a laser cannon and fires an intense beam of energy at the opponent. The attack starts off as a large beam that can trap opponents in place, dealing 3 damage on loop. The large beam then splits into four smaller ones, each at a different angle that deal 2 damage on loop. It then bursts into a large beam that deals 15 damage.

Guided Robo Beam Level 3
|
R.O.B re-configures his body into a cannon-like form, and begins to charge energy. During the charge, he fires smaller red lasers that home on opponents in front of him that deal 2.2 damage. The guided lasers direct foes towards the laser. He then unleashes the built up energy in the form of a green laser, which can be angled up or down which inflicts 3 damage in a loop. As the Final Smash begins to end, the laser briefly enlarges, becoming wider and more powerful, dealing 6 damage on a loop.

Ancient Minister Finishers

Overdrive Tentacle Level 1
|
Ancient Minister extends out a large metallic tentacle out from their cloak that extends out nearly 7 character lengths that deals 15-19 damage to a opponent as it writhes around, inflicting hard pushback to the edge of the stage. This has a long reach horizontally and Ancient Minister gains superarmor on their normal hurtboxes and the tentacle is considered invincible while active.

Wrath of the Ancients Level 2
|
Ancient Minister leaps up into the air, metallic tentacles sticking to the ground as the ai spirits of R.O.B.s from the Subspace Emissary are unleashed across the stage, inflicting 10 anima damage as they violently collide with opponents, with a total of ten of these generated in a circular pattern around the Ancient Minister. On hit, they inflict Weak as well. Ancient Minister returns to normal after the screen is clear of the spirits.

Subspace Bomb Level 3
|
Ancient Minister ascends upwards with his bomb carrier, dropping a normal Subspace bomb that encompasses a 9x9 character length radius and pulls opponents, projectiles, troops, traps, and other objects into it, inflicting 30 dark damage to opponents with 1.8 damage done to opponents on a loop of 30 frames for the next 9 seconds. It has a black hole effect, gravitating whatever is nearby strongly, with the magnet effect getting weaker the futher away opponents are away from the bomb's impact. After 9 seconds, the effect will disappear in a upwards blip as the Ancient Minister returns to the stage. A shining X made out light will appear in the stage's background for the rest of the match.

Power Drain

When R.O.B. is caught by Rogue, he is kissed on the space between his eyes. Rogue gains Robo Beam/Subspace Gernade as a replacement for her neutral special Photon Blast, the move she copies being depedent on which moveset R.O.B. is in. She also gains a attack bonus, boosting her attack by 1.3x for six seconds.

When The Monstars rob the talent of R.O.B., they gain Arm Rotor/Ancient Sickles to replace their side special, Intercept. The move they copy is depedent on which moveset R.O.B. is in. The active Monstar gains a cardboard armor based around R.O.B. or the robes of the Ancient Minister as a physical attribute.

R.O.B., as an ancient being, is aware of more than they let on, especially regarding the primordial orgins of many deities that rule the universe.

Your honor, my client was under the pressure of a higher power to commit the acts we know as the Subspace Emissary. Under threat to all of his people, R.O.B. thought he was doing his land a greater good of survival. These acts however, turned to be for almost naught and it is with the deepest of sorrows that R.O.B. comes here today to plead for their case.

Torture
|
When R.O.B. is caught by Posion, Poison wraps her whip around his head and decapitates them, causing their head to spark off and watching in glee as they attempt to reattach it, dealing a total of 45 damage.

When Ralsei encounters R.O.B., he gifts the robot with a bunch of Stack-Up "blocks" which R.O.B. plays with, inflicting 2 levels of Drowsiness.
